How does the Five Elements Quiz work?
The quiz asks 12 scenario-based questions. Each answer maps to one of the Five Elements (Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, Metal). Your dominant element reveals your personality archetype, strengths, and blind spots. No sign-up required.
Is OrientDao free?
Yes! The quiz, compatibility test, and preview readings are completely free. You can unlock full reports for individual modules ($2.99 each) or get all three ($6.99). The AI Master Chat gives you 5 free messages.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed. Your results are saved anonymously in your browser. If you provide your email after the quiz, we can send you daily fortune insights.
Face Reading
How does AI face reading work?
We use MediaPipe Face Landmarker to detect 478 facial landmarks from your photo. These landmarks are analyzed against classical face reading texts (神相全编, 许负相法) to determine your face shape, five elements type, and 12 Life Zone scores.
Is my photo stored?
No. Your photo is processed in memory and immediately discarded. We only store the analysis results (text), never the image itself.
Why are my results different from another photo?
Results are deterministic per photo — the same photo always gives the same result. Different angles, lighting, or expressions will produce slightly different landmark positions, which may affect the analysis.

What is the Zhougong Dream Dictionary?
周公解梦 (Zhougong's Dream Dictionary) is a classical Chinese text containing 988 dream symbols across 27 categories. Each symbol has a fortune rating (Auspicious, Inauspicious, or Mixed) and interpretation. We match your dream description against this database using keyword matching.
Why didn't my dream match any symbols?
Try describing your dream with more specific details — objects, animals, actions, colors. The matching engine uses Chinese characters, so dreams about common themes (water, fire, snakes, flying, etc.) work best.

What is a Ming Gua (命卦)?
Your Ming Gua is calculated from your birth year and gender using the Eight Mansions (八宅派) method. It determines your favorable and unfavorable directions, and whether you belong to the East Group (東四命) or West Group (西四命).
What are the Wandering Stars?
The 8 Wandering Stars (遊年八星) are: Generating Breath (生氣), Heavenly Physician (天醫), Longevity (延年), Stable Position (伏位) — all auspicious; and Deadly (絕命), Five Ghosts (五鬼), Six Killings (六煞), Calamity (禍害) — all inauspicious. Each direction in your home is governed by one of these stars based on your Gua.

Can Master Lao see my previous results?
Yes! If you've taken the quiz, done a face reading, or analyzed your space, Master Lao automatically knows your element type, face shape, and feng shui scores. This context helps provide personalized guidance.
How many free messages do I get?
You get 5 free messages. After that, you can unlock 50 more for $2.99, or get unlimited chat with Dao Pro ($29.99/year).

What payment methods do you accept?
We use Creem as our payment processor. They support Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Is there a refund policy?
Single unlocks ($2.99) are one-time purchases with permanent access. Dao Pro ($29.99/year) can be cancelled anytime. Contact us within 7 days for a full refund if you're not satisfied.
Data & Privacy
Is my data shared with third parties?
No. Your quiz results, face analysis, dream interpretations, and chat messages are stored per-user and never shared. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Simply clear your browser localStorage (Settings → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data). This removes your anonymous user ID and all associated results.
