1. Overview
OrientDao respects your privacy. We collect minimal data, use anonymous identification, and never sell your information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Anonymous User Identification
When you visit OrientDao, we generate a random UUID stored in your browser's localStorage. This ID allows us to associate your quiz results, face analysis, dream interpretations, and chat history together — without requiring an account or personal information.
3. Data We Collect
Quiz answers & results: Your Five Elements answers and personality analysis.
Face analysis results: Face shape, element type, palace scores (text only — NOT the photo).
Dream descriptions: The text you submit for dream interpretation.
Feng Shui inputs: Room type, directions, birth year, gender.
Chat messages: Your conversations with Master Lao (sent to our LLM provider for processing).
Email (optional): Only if you choose to provide it after the quiz.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
✗ Your face photos are processed in memory and immediately discarded. We never store images.
✗ We do not require accounts, names, or personal identifiers.
✗ We do not use tracking pixels or advertising SDKs.
✗ We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
5. How We Use Your Data
• To provide analysis results and store them for your reference
• To personalize AI Master Chat with your previous analysis context
• To send daily fortune emails (only if you opt in)
• To improve our analysis accuracy and knowledge base
6. Third-Party Services
LLM Provider (gptsapi.net): Chat messages are sent to our LLM provider for AI response generation. Only the message text is transmitted — no images or personal data.
Creem (Payment Processor): Payment information is handled entirely by Creem. We do not see or store your credit card details.
7. Data Storage
Currently, all user data is stored in-memory on our servers and is cleared when the server restarts. We plan to migrate to Supabase (PostgreSQL) for persistent storage. Your browser localStorage also stores your user ID and quiz results.
8. Your Rights
Access: You can view your data anytime through the app.
Deletion: Clear your browser localStorage to remove your anonymous ID. Contact us to delete server-side data.
Opt-out: Don't provide your email if you don't want fortune emails.
9. Children's Privacy
OrientDao is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email (if provided) or in-app notice.
